Ministry of Industry opened a draft notification on Self-declaration system for public consultation in April 2020. The notification was drafted to implement amendment of Factory Act — Factory Act (No.2) B.E. 2562 (2019) . The amendment abolished existing 5-yearly license renewal. On the contrary, the amendment introduced Self-Declaration system to regulate concerns over environmental and safety issues. The draft requires factory licensees to submit Self-Declaration report after approval by a third party auditor.
