VM0038, developed under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), enables carbon credit generation from EV charging projects by quantifying emission reductions from shifting fossil fuel vehicles to electric vehicles. Carbon credits, each equal to 1 tCO₂e, are calculated by comparing baseline emissions with project emissions, with the difference issued as credits after project design, additionality demonstration, monitoring, and verification. These projects play a key role in reducing transport emissions, promoting clean energy, and supporting long-term sustainability goals.
