Background
Our
client, a Japanese plastic products manufacturer, was supposed to have an
internal EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) audit conducted by their
headquarter in Tokyo, Japan. The Japanese manager of Thai factory was requested
to answer the questionnaire about local environmental regulatory requirements
prior to the visit of the audit team, though it was difficult for an expatriate
to understand EHS regulatory framework and details written in Thai.
Our Approach
As
it was a short notice, our team firstly supported the client to answer the
questionnaire from Japan for the benefit of their internal audit program as a
temporary measure. Subsequently , our team comprised of Japanese and Thai
environmental experts, also conducted an external EHS Compliance audit to
evaluate their environmental management practice. Findings were summarized in
both in Japanese and Thai and the report was shared with head office in Japan
for their information.
Our Value
We clearly and objectively showed our client
the compliance status of the factory. We also explained legal background to
both Japanese manager and Thai local staffs for mutual understanding and future
communication. We were also commissioned a follow-up activity to train and
support local staffs continuously for a period of 1-year as a post-audit
activity.
