GBP Explores Plastic Credit Opportunities for Sustainable Waste Management in Bangladesh
Sustainability knows no borders. With this vision, Green & Blue Planet Solutions Co., Ltd. (GBP) participated in the Bangladesh–Japan Environmental Cooperation Forum, held on 27 October 2026 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to present an innovative approach to sustainable plastic waste management in Cox’s Bazar.
GBP delivered a presentation titled “Building a Sustainable Plastic Waste Management Model in Cox’s Bazar” The presentation introduced an initiated feasibility study aimed at exploring sustainable financing solutions and creating opportunities for international collaboration to address plastic waste challenges.

The study focuses on the potential of plastic credits as an innovative financing mechanism to support plastic waste collection, recycling and sustainable waste management. It also explores possible linkages with Bangladesh’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, with the aim of encouraging private-sector participation and mobilising investment towards long-term environmental solutions.
From ideas to partnerships, and from partnerships to action, GBP sees this initiative as an opportunity to bring together stakeholders, expertise and resources across borders. Through collaboration with potential partners in Bangladesh, Japan and beyond, GBP aims to contribute to practical, scalable and financially sustainable waste management solutions that deliver meaningful environmental and social benefits.
